The strength of the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce is through its membership and committees. They help to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Chamber and community. The following provides brief descriptions of the various Chamber committees.

ATHENA AWARD COMMITTEE
A program created to recognize and honor the achievements of outstanding professional and business women in the Marshall Area. The award is given at the Chamber's Annual Meeting.
MICHIGAN WEEK COMMITTEE
To celebrate living in Michigan, a full week of activities are planned to involve the community in commerce, education, government, health, religion and heritage during the month of May.
CHICKEN BARBEQUE COMMITTEE
This committee plans and coordinates the annual Chicken Barbecue/4th of July Celebration held annually at the Fountain Circle.
DREAM DOLLAR COMMITTEE
A project that is organized in the spring each year to generate additional non-dues income. The winner receives $15,000 and seven cash prizes are awarded ranging from $250 to $ 5000. There are approximately 30 volunteers needed to assist in this important project.
GOLF OUTING COMMITTEE
This fundraising project is organized to encourage members to socialize in an informal setting. The outing is held in August. Individuals collectively solicit members for tee and green sponsorships, door prizes, determine course games and assist in basic set-up for the afternoon.
This committee is responsible for funding and maintenance of the Christmas lights and Santa's float. Committee members also organize the annual Christmas parade, held on the Monday after Thanksgiving each year.
The Ambassadors enhance the image of the Marshall Area Chamber of Commerce and increase the membership of the organization by acting as official Chamber hosts at functions. They assist in the promotion of the economic health and well being of the Marshall area; call on prospective members; recognize specific events within the Marshall area business community such as anniversaries, open houses, ribbon cuttings, expansions, grand openings, and ground breakings; assist with retention efforts; and serve as a liaison between the Chamber membership and the Board of Directors.
RETAIL/SMALL BUSINESS DIVISION
This group consists of retail and small business Chamber members who meet on a quarterly basis to network and share common issues relating to business. Seminars, workshop and general discussion sessions are held to assist businesses in marketing and promotion.
TOURISM ADVISORY COUNCIL
A group of area businesses meeting to promote tourism in the Marshall area. Items for discussion include establishing the annual tourism budget, billboard design and placement, media advertising and events among others. Open to any Chamber member who has a tourism-related business (i.e., motel, retail, restaurants, antiques, etc.) or is interested in the promotion of Marshall as a tourist destination.
